Scientists have created a double-sided Velcro that can withstand over 300 pounds

Perhaps in the near future to attach the TV and other equipment to the wall becomes very trivial matter. Scientists in the University of Massachusetts Amherst have created sverhlipky Geckskin material with unique properties.
In a demonstration to the flap of material measuring approximately 10x10 inches attached 42-inch LCD-TV. In general, the material can hold up to 700 pounds - or more than 300 pounds. Moreover, the velcro does not leave residue after removal.
The idea of creating Geckskin researchers have learned in the wild, which is reflected in the title material. Gecko lizard is able to move in almost any vertical surface due to a variety of microscopic hairs located on her legs. The team consisted of specialists in materials and biologists. They found that the lizards "stick" is not only due to bristle, but also coordinated the work of the bones, tendons and skin motion.

Geckskin is a fabric made of composite materials with a padded, interwoven with the hardest part. Thanks to the Velcro pads suitable for use on any surface. The material does not lose its properties over time, it is easy to adhere and remove. The work is funded by the Agency of the Defense Advanced Research Projects (DARPA).
